About UNWTO Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific

The UNWTO Regional Support Office for Asia and the Pacific (RSOAP) was established in 1995 in Osaka, Japan, to assist with the development and promotion of tourism in the region.  In 2012, the office moved to its current location in Nara, Japan.

UNWTO RSOAP coordinates UNWTO priorities in the region, supports the Regional Programme for Asia and the Pacific, and promotes sustainable policies and practices in order to maximize tourism’s socio-economic contribution while minimizing its possible negative impacts.
